The world is crying out for empathy and compassion. With every catastrophe, there are stories of how people suffer great loss after life has already given loss after loss. The most recent being the fires of Los Angeles and its regional fires.
These stories are motivating and inspiring. A rising, after rising of resilience. I heard a quote recently, "No matter what happens, your feet have to keep moving". I'm in awe of the people who dare to not just rise individually after their lives burn down, but reach out their hands to thousands of neighbors to help others rise. Our global neighbors near and far rise to meet a need. They don't wait. They sing at their arrival and dance in anticipation to help.
We, "Look for the helpers". We decide, "Be the change you want to see in the world". So we be the empathy we want see. We be the compassion we want to see. We look for the help when the burden is too heavy to carry. We carry each other's burdens, and declare it. We declare it over our communities. We declare empathy. We declare compassion. We declare help, one another. Because we are believing until we see it. We are being the hands and feet.
Do you hear it?
